Prompt 2: Have you ever spoken up when you saw something that was wrong that was going on?

Hey guys. Here I am within another prompt and another posting.

It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends.
J. K. Rowling

This has certainly been an interesting one which I have been debating about doing because it is a little bit tough for me on the emotional side.  I have always found it important that when you see something going on that is wrong--just do something. Do not sit idly by and hope that someone else does what you think is right.  As a man who is finally okay with his sexual identity, if I were to see a gay man, lesbian woman, or transgender individual being attacked, I would certainly say or do something to the other party involved.  Unfortunately, more often than not history proves that people will often sit around thinking that things will right themselves.  A perfectly good example of this is the Holocaust.  People kept thinking that someone will come by and prevent the atrocities of the Holocaust from happening, but it took several years before that happened.  I guess my major point when thinking about this post (at least for now... this very well could be one I will come back to) is no matter what happens do not expect that the world is as empathetic and sensitive as you--do something no matter what.   Keep reading dear followers... more to come.  Only 298 more to go.
Stand up for what you believe in even if you're standing alone

Prompt 1: What is your favorite way to spend a lazy day?

Writing about a lazy day is kind of ironic for me at the moment since I have left the teaching job I had in Newport. Most days I have are generally lazy over the summer since there is little to do whether I am home in Pennsylvania or I am sticking around here where I live in New Hampshire.  I am still trying to learn how to make more friends and to connect to more people since I have come here.  It is often difficult because I do not want to disappoint people and I do not want to come across as thinking I am a superior individual and that whatever I do is the best. It is an ugly habit, I know.  I am trying to learn how best to not be as lazy these days. In fact, part of the inspiration for this blog is stemming from me wanting to NOT be as lazy during the summer.  Perhaps part of the best part of doing this blog will be that I will be spending parts of my day preparing for the M-TELs and part of my day writing in this blog and trying to eat right and also trying to take walks around Hooksett.  Unfortunately, laziness has become a part of my routine ever since leaving college.  I actually do not want to write about my favorite ways to spend a lazy day because they make me look like an imbecile.  Most of the time, a lazy day for me includes lounging around on my computer, reading and writing.  I am also trying to spend some of my days as of late looking for full-time work.  Laziness is not exactly a trait I want to be recognized for. I want to try to keep myself as active as I can be.  This blog will certainly do that.  I have lately had a few goals that are inspiring me...

1) Being an ESL teacher in Massachusetts/New Hampshire
2) Getting a full-time job.
3) Getting paid what I deserve to get paid in that job.
4) Having a successful relationship and/or friends that I can hang out with more often (so that I am not so lazy)
5) Lose a ton of weight and be happy with my appearance for once.
6)  Avoid being lazy.

Just a note readers--I am going to try to spend a few days at least so that these posts are more spread out.  So, if it seems like I am rambling I do apologize.

300 Writing Prompts -- An Introduction

 http://img2.imagesbn.com/p/9781608636921_p0_v2_s260x420.JPG

Dear Blogger Fans,

My name is Jake. I am an English as a Second Language Teacher by day and a lover of reading, writing, theater, Wheel of Fortune, and language by night.  I have recently obtained a book called 300 Writing Prompts.  My roommate saw the book in Barnes and Noble, so I purchased in the hopes that it would help me to be more inspired to write more.  In fact, it inspired me to create this blog.  So, here goes nothing... writing 300 different pieces over the course of several weeks.  I apologize if I miss any ahead of time.

Thanks for reading along!
